Francis Yiu-Ting Chik is the founding violinist of the Cong Quartet. Currently, the quartet is the Ensemble-in-Residence of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), a role that they also held in 2019–2022. Together with the quartet, Francis was a prize winner of serval competitions including the 15th Banff International String Quartet Competition and the Salzburg Mozart International Chamber Competition 2019 in Tokyo.
Francis has taken part in the Aspen Music Festival & School, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Heifetz International Music Institute’s Ashkenasi/Kirshbaum Chamber Music Seminar, Hu Kun & Friends International Masterclass, Juilliard String Quartet Seminar, Madeline Island Chamber Music, Music Academy Hörpu in Iceland, Nyack Academy of Music Summer Festival, and Robert Mann String Quartet Institute, and has worked closely with the Pacifica Quartet, Dover Quartet, Shanghai Quartet, and members of the American, Borodin, Borromeo, Danel, Ébène, Jerusalem, Juilliard, Tokyo, Vermeer, and Ysaÿe Quartet, among others.
Francis obtained his Master of Arts degree from the Royal Academy of Music in London and was awarded the Roth Prize for Violin Finalists for his exceptional performance in the final recital. Before that, he obtained his Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, where he was awarded the Performer's Certificate. Francis also studied at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and the Netherlands String Quartet Academy (NSKA).
His principal teachers include Ivan Chan, Marc Danel, Simin Ganatra, Hong-Ying Ho, Hu Kun, Mikhail Kopelman, and Joseph Swensen. He has also played in masterclasses for world-renowned violinists Federico Agostini, Renee Jolles, Tasmin Little, Issac Malkin, Paivyt Meller, Movses Pogossian, and Pinchas Zukerman.
戚耀庭是 Cong四重奏的創團小提琴手，Cong四重奏自2019年起是香港中文大學的駐校四重奏，並在2019年東京薩爾斯堡莫扎特室樂國際比賽中奪得冠軍和2021年比利時克羅采國際音樂大賽獲得亞軍。戚氏曾在印第安納大學修讀弦樂四重奏研習班，隨太平洋四重奏學藝，並出席了紐約羅伯特曼恩四重奏研討會、冰島哈帕國際音樂節的四重奏研討會和阿波斯特爾群島室樂節等國際室樂節，曾受不同世級界四重奏指導，當中包括上海四重奏、鮑羅丁四重奏、丹奈爾四重奏、茱莉亞四重奏和東京四重奏的成員。
戚氏畢業於美國紐約伊士曼音樂學院及英國倫敦皇家音樂學院，並曾在印第安納大學積可斯音樂學院就讀，師隨胡坤、何紅英、陳浩堂、米哈伊爾·高柏文 (前鮑羅丁四重奏和東京四重奏第一小提琴手)及約瑟·史雲遜。在伊士曼音樂學院修讀時，戚耀庭獲學校頒發演奏者證書。在倫敦深造時，又獲皇家音樂學院頒發羅斯獎。
戚耀庭一直積極參與世界各地的演出，曾在東京、紐約、烏德勒支、法國、新加波、香港，以及在里昂國立高等音樂學院、巴德學院、德克薩斯基督教大學和北德州大學等學校演出。
